About The Role

We're looking for a talented Product Designer to take the lead in shaping the user experience and visual identity of Capture Cloud – our core digital platform for battery energy storage solutions. In this role, you'll drive design from concept to implementation, working closely with product, engineering, and business teams. As our first in-house designer, you'll play a key role in building a scalable, user-friendly platform that powers the future of energy.

Work assignments and key responsibilities

• Design Ownership: Lead the end-to-end design process for Capture Cloud, from discovery and ideation to final UI delivery.
• User-Centered Design: Conduct user research, interviews, and usability testing to inform design decisions and validate solutions.
• UI/UX Design: Create wireframes, user flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs for both web and mobile platforms.
• Design System Management: Develop, maintain, and evolve a scalable design system to ensure consistency across the platform.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to align on product goals and deliverables.
• Visual Identity: Help define and refine the visual style of Capture Cloud, ensuring it reflects Capture Energy’s brand and values.
• Accessibility & Usability: Ensure designs meet high standards for accessibility and usability across different user groups and devices.
• Continuous Improvement: Iterate on designs based on feedback and performance data to improve user satisfaction and engagement.
• Strategic Input: Contribute to product strategy by bringing a design perspective to planning and prioritization discussions.
• Internal Capability Building: Support the transition from external to internal design capabilities, helping establish a strong design culture in-house.

Skills and Qualifications

• UI/UX Design: Proficient in design tools (Figma, Sketch, etc.) and creating wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs.
• User Research: Experience in conducting usability testing and gathering user insights to inform design decisions.
• Design Systems: Ability to develop and maintain scalable design systems for consistency across platforms.
• Collaboration: Strong teamwork skills to work effectively with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders.
• Problem Solving: Ability to simplify complex concepts and deliver intuitive design solutions.
• Experience: 5+ years in product design or UI/UX design with a portfolio showcasing your work.
• Education: Degree in Digital Design, HCI, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for presenting designs and collaborating.
• Self-Starter: Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.
• Innovative: Creative and adaptable to evolving design needs.
• Experience working in startups or scale-ups is a plus.
